Mid-Ohio-Con Indie Film Festival
The Mid-Ohio-Con Indie Film Festival (MOC-IFF) will debut at Mid-Ohio-Con 2008. The festival is a new addition to the Mid-Ohio-Con programming track and represents a fantastic opportunity for independent filmmakers to screen their work in front of legions of enthusiastic fans.
Film Submission
Mid-Ohio-Con is a pop-culture convention that's all about comics, anime/manga, sci-fi/fantasy/horror, gaming, toys, and fan culture in general, so films submitted for consideration in the MOC-IFF should be relevant to our core fan base, focus and themes.
We are accepting submissions in each of the following categories:
- Action/Adventure
- Animation
- Documentary
- Horror/Suspense
- Humor/Parody
- Sci-Fi/Fantasy
We will be accepting submissions from independent filmmakers through August 15, 2008. Two copies of each film should be submitted via mail on DVD in NTSC format to the address listed in the MOC-IFF submission form.
The MOC-IFF submission form with details on the rules and regulations for independent film submission is available in either Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word format by clicking on the links below:
Film Selection
Upon receipt all films will be examined by our selection committee, and filmmakers will be notified via e-mail on or around September 12, 2008, whether a submitted film has or has not been chosen to be screened at the MOC-IFF.
Judging and Awards
All submissions selected to be screened at the MOC-IFF will be reviewed by a panel of four judges who will evaluate each qualifying submission based on plot, script, casting, acting, special effects, and overall production quality.
Awards will be granted to the top selection in each category as determined by our selection committee. Awards will include a trophy as well as a prize package comprising contributions from a number of our leading exhibitors and sponsors.
Attending Filmmakers
Although not required, we would like for at least one member of the filmmaking crew to be in attendance at the MOC-IFF to introduce and discuss the film. Attendance will also give us a chance to meet you and for you to connect with fans and other members of the filmmaking community.
